Reimer Receives Second Career NJCAA Div. III Women’s Cross Country Runner Of Week Honor

Charlotte, North Carolina –  BMCC women's cross country sophomore Lea Reimer (Paderborn, Germany) continues to rack up accolades and has established herself as the program's most accomplished runner. After adding another piece of hardware to her display case with a top 20 finish and a medal at the Queensborough Invitational over the weekendReimer earned national recognition again, receiving NJCAA Division III Women's Country Runner of the Week accolades for the second time in her career.

Reimer was the first Runner in the program's history last year to receive NJCAA Division III Runner of the Week honors after becoming the program's first-ever CUNYAC Women's Community College Cross Country Individual Champion.

The Paderborn, Germany native finished 11th out of 145 competitors from NCAA and NJCAA institutions at the Queensborough Invitational over the weekendcrossing the tape with a time of 23:14.0Reimer picked up her sixth career medal as a member of the BMCC Cross Country and Track and Field program. Two of her six career medals are for being the program's first-ever USTFCCCA All-American (United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) selection and CUNY Cross Country Community College Individual Champion.

Reimer suits back up for the women's cross country team this Sunday, October 13, at 11 a.m. at the Mt. St. Mary College Invitational at Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, New York. Reimer posted a top 10 finish out of 117 runners at the 2023 Mt. St. Mary Knight Invitational last year in her first-ever collegiate race.
