Davis and Harvey Earn Monroe Mustangs Women’s Track and Field’s First Qualifying Times of 2024 at STAC Spartan Invite

Staten Island, New York - After putting on strong season-opening performances at the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartan Invite at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, Monroe College Mustangs women's track and field's Quaycian Davis and Attoya Harvey became the program's first two qualifiers for the 2024 NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Gainesville, Florida at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center at Celebration Pointe.

Davis opened the day with a bang for the Mustangs on Friday with her debut in the 60-meter hurdles. Davis took first place overall in the field of 27 with a time of 8.81 seconds. Her time beat this year's NJCAA qualifying standard, earning Davis a spot in the event at the 2024 NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Harvey also earned her way to the NJCAA Indoor Championships on Friday after her performance in the mile run. Harvey took second out of 55 runners with a qualifying time of 5:07.38. Shaquka Tyrell joined her in the mile, narrowly missing the qualifying standard by less than a second with a time of 5:19.52.
