Selden, New York - After returning to the National Tournament for the first time since 2021 and a trip to the NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer semifinals, the Suffolk County Community College women's soccer came in at No. 4 in the NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer preseason poll as announced by the NJCAA. The Sharks finished with a 15-3-1 overall record last season, a 2023 Mid-Atlantic District Title, and will kick off their 2024 season against Mercer County Community College on August 24th at noon.
Head Coach Keith Ginsberg will look to build on last year's momentum that featured an explosive offense that ranked fifth in the country with 72 goals led by freshman sensation Yamileth Fuentes, who netted a team-best tied four goals and 14 goals overall, which was second on the team. Fuentes, a 2023 NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer All-Tournament team selection, was also third with 30 points. On the backend, the Sharks will try to mirror their dominant defense, which finished second in the country with 13 shutouts.
