Monroe Mustangs Softball Sweeps Harford to Earn Spot In Region 10 Championship Tournament

Bel Air, Maryland - For the second straight season, the Monroe College Mustangs softball team is heading the Region 10 Championship after sweeping Harford Community College on Saturday in the play-in series by the scores of 3-1 and 5-4. The Mustangs will compete in next weekend's Region 10 Championship at Patriot Park in Sumter, South Carolina.

Sarah Wall was outstanding in the circle for the Mustangs in game one, going all seven innings without giving up an earned run while fanning eight batters and allowing just four hits to grab her 12th win of the season. Veronika Anderson led Monroe College on offense, going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a run scored, and the game-winning RBI, while Amber Miltenberg went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. 

Gabriella Diaz picked up her 10th win of the season, going five innings, allowing four runs and striking out three batters. Wall came in for two innings, earning her third save of the year, striking out two batters and allowing one hit. Aisling Wilson led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and two runs scored, while Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a run. Anderson registered her third double of the day, going 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Once the seeding is announced, the Mustangs will hit the diamond for the Region 10 tournament from May 2nd until May 4th.
