Charlotte, North Carolina - After a dominant week at the plate and becoming the third player in program history to reach 100 career hits, Monroe College softball sophomore Marissa Thalassinos received NJCAA Division I Softball Player Of The Week honors, as announced by the NJCAA on Wednesday.

Thalassinos was phenomenal at the plate last week, hitting .629 across 11 games with a 1.769 OPS. The Thornhill, Ontario native registered 10 extra-base hits on three home runs, six doubles, and a triple, including going a perfect 8-for-8 with nine RBIs, four runs, two home runs, and two doubles in game one of her first doubleheader against WVU Potomac State College.

Thalassinos also joined the 100 career hit club last week, becoming the third player in program history to reach that mark. Thalassinos currently stands with 104 hits for her career as she stands just three shy of the program record of 107 set last season by her former teammate Mya Jack.

Thalassinos is riding a 14-game hitting streak heading into Wednesday's matchup at CCBC Catonsville.
