Region 15 Men’s Cross Country Makes Statement At NJCAA Division III National Championships; SUNY Orange’s Hayden Finishes Third, Suffolk C.C.’s Ferrari Record Top 10 Finishes

Westfield, Mass. (Nov. 5, 2022) - The NJCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship sported a competitive field of 157 runners from around the country, and two Region 15 runners made their mark. SUNY Orange's Thomas Hayden and Suffolk C.C.'s Logan Ferri both posted top-ten finishes, with Hayden crossing the tape for a third-place finish and Ferri crossing the line in eighth.

Hayden recorded a finishing time of 27:02.15, while Ferrari came across with a time of 27:16.02, leading Suffolk to the best team finish of all Region 15 competitors in the field with a six-place finish with 225 points.

Bailey Katzmann was the final Region 15 men's runner to finish in the top 30, coming in at 26th place with a time of 28:33.88, while his teammates Rene Collado and Xavier Hernandez came crossed the finish line with times of 31:24.69 and 33:36.76.

Jeffery Simmons was the other Shark runner to finish in the top 50, coming in with a time of 29:30.77 for 43rd place. Christopher Frohne and Michael Burns finished with times of 30:32.64 and 32:00.03, while Zachary Rohr and Luke Clackett came across with times of 32:00.03 and 32:48.14.

Queensborough C.C.'s Men's Cross Country team was the other Region 15 team to finish in the top 19 as the Tigers finished 18th with a total of 433 points. CUNYAC Conference Individual Champion Renaediaz Miller spearheaded the effort for the Tigers with a 55th-place finish and a time of 30:07.48. Nicolas Pirovlikos and Karlo Baldonado finished with times of 31:46.74 and 34:28.04, while Peter Hoffmann and Chrisnel Nicolas registered times of 35:12.22 and 36:47.73.
