Eli Gries-Smith Selected as NJCAA Division I Baseball All-American

Charlotte, North Carolina - After a dominant 2024 season, sophomore right fielder Eli Gries-Smith became the sixth straight Monroe College Mustang baseball player to earn All-America honors, being named NJCAA Division I Baseball All-America Team honorable mention as announced by the NJCAA.

Gries-Smith was brilliant during his sophomore campaign after transferring to Monroe College. He led the team with a .366 batting average in 55 games, setting a new Monroe College record with 70 hits in a single season. Gries-Smith also set a program record with a 20-game hitting streak that ended in late April. He led the team with 17 doubles and was tied for the team lead with three triples while also leading the team with a .988 OPS.

Gries-Smith was instrumental to the Mustang's outstanding 2024 campaign, leading them to a 32-23-1 overall record and a run to the East District Championship after a perfect 3-0 record in the 2024 Region 20 Championship tournament in Maryland.
