Brooklyn, New York - Three Times have become a charm for the Kingsborough Community College Baseball program, which captured its third consecutive CUNYAC Community College Baseball Championship 8-4 on Monday afternoon at Kingsborough Athletics Field. The title was the eighth in the Wave's program history.

Sophomore Thomas Laino was named the 2024 CUNYAC Community College Championship's Most Valuable Player, going 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs and a run scored. The Broncos opened the scoring in the top of the first when Steven Santos singled up the middle to score Fred Jimenez from second to put Bronx Community College in front 1-0.

Kingsborough responded with a three-run bottom of the first, spearheaded by a three-run homer to right-center from Laino, to lead 3-1 going into the top of the second. Bronx Community College punched back in the top of the inning, knotting it up at three on a two-run double from Euniel De La Rosa.

The Wave regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth, 4-3, on a solo home run to left field from Filippo Venditti before the Broncos tied the game again in the seventh on a two-out single from Raul Chevalier.

Kingsborough pulled away in the bottom of the fifth inning for good with three runs courtesy of a two-run pinch-hit single to right field by Nasir Useuni and a sacrifice fly RBI from Victor Perez to make it a 7-4 lead.

Kingsborough added insurance in the eighth inning, scoring Christopher Jace on an SAC bunt from Yoskar Guzman, to clinch their third consecutive title with an 8-4 victory.

The Wave recorded nine hits, including a pair each of Venditti and Jace.

Jayden Caro was credited with the win on the mound, going one inning and allowing one run on two hits.
